Ecobank- FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP IN SMEs AWARD
Despite the importance of SMEs to Africa’s economy, they face significant constraints including lack of access to financing, particularly by vulnerable groups including women and youth, who make up the bulk of SMEs. Ecobank stands tall among the list of institutions helping to address this.
Ecobank is a leading pan-African financial institution advancing inclusive SME growth across more than 30 African countries. Through tailored SME loans, working capital solutions, supply-chain finance, and digital platforms such as OmniLite and the Ecobank Mobile App, the bank enables SMEs to transact, scale, and operate across borders. Its Ellevate Programme provides women-owned enterprises with access to finance, capacity building, and export readiness support, while youth-led businesses benefit from digital financing and fintech partnerships. By combining physical and digital reach, Ecobank empowers SMEs to integrate into regional value chains and leverage opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR APCA NOMINEES

They should demonstrate innovation, leadership, and a commitment to sustainable growth that transcends national boundaries and contributes to regional integration, job creation, and empowerment. Their achievements must reflect the spirit of Africa’s Single Market agenda. AWARD PRESENTATION CRITERIA
Aside from circumstances deemed exceptional, one of the strict rules of the APCAs requires Award winners to accept the award in person. Absent awardees are neither announced nor handed an award. In the case of Presidential awards, however, the award may be accepted on behalf of the Head of State by their vice or deputy President or Head of State or Government.
