The Malabo Leadership Breakfast Meeting 2025 was a closed-door summit that convened the leadership of the African Union, Heads of State, and the heads of Africa’s Regional Economic Communities (RECs) on the sidelines of the African Union’s Mid-Year Coordination Meeting in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

Malabo Leadership Breakfast Meeting (MLBM)

Organised in collaboration with the Government of Equatorial Guinea and the AfCFTA Secretariat, it was strategically positioned to offer a rare and exclusive platform where Africa’s foremost business, institutional and thought leaders engaged directly with the policymakers shaping the continent’s integration agenda.

From launching bold proposals like the $1-a-day Integrated Africa Infrastructure Growth Fund to positioning Equatorial Guinea as a dynamic commercial hub, the Malabo Leadership Breakfast Meeting provided an avenue for ideas to gain traction and forge alliances.

Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2025

Themed “Delivering Africa’s Single Market through Infrastructure: Invest. Connect. Integrate.”, took place from 30 January to 1 February 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana. This three-day gathering brought together Heads of State, political leaders, private sector stakeholders, captains of industry, financial institutions, and global influencers to forge partnerships, address Africa’s infrastructure challenges, and drive economic integration through strategic investments and innovative solutions.

Held in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), Afreximbank, the Africa Business Council (AfBC), UNDP Africa, the Africa-America Institute, and BADEA, the Dialogues offered unparalleled opportunities for impactful discussions, high-level networking, and tangible outcomes.

MLBM 2025: Financing and Facilitating Movement In Africa

Under the theme “Financing and Facilitating the Movement
of People, Goods, and Services in Africa”
, the Malabo Leadership Breakfast Meeting 2025 was aimed at advocating for policy reforms that support the growth and competitiveness in Africa by:

  • Examining the crowd funding mechanisms to ensure long-term success and sustainability of fund mobilisation efforts to support the Africa we want.
  • Advocating for the full implementation of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), emphasising its role in enhancing connectivity, creating jobs, and driving economic integration.
  • Highlighting the burden of high taxes and fees on intra-Africa transport and proposing strategies for governments to reduce these costs to make travel more affordable and competitive.
